Reimagining Leadership

Join a season-long circle of women and non-binary people who want to reimagine their leadership through meaningful conversation, self-inquiry using cycle awareness, and inspiration from nature, the body, and each other.

As a woman or non-binary person on Earth’s “transition team”, you long to be a thriving, resilient and adaptive leader playing your unique part in helping our planet and communities regenerate. But you’re increasingly aware that the existing models of leadership–i.e. the ones that got us into this mess–are not capable of helping us get out of it.

But while you know the leadership models we’ve been taught are insufficient and often harmful, you’re not sure what else is possible. And you’re not alone in feeling that way.

That’s why we’re gathering together in circle this summer to reimagine what leadership is needed at this moment on the planet–taking inspiration from the wisdom of nature, our bodies, and each other–so we can sense what else is possible and let it shape our visions for our own leadership.

Together, we’ll reimagine our leadership in 3 ways:

  • Through the circle structure that will give you a firsthand experience of one type of "power with" leadership model, which I will introduce on the welcome call

  • Through the topics we'll explore together in 3 thoughtful live conversation circles as we look to nature + the body for leadership inspiration

  • Through self-inquiry using a simple cycle awareness tool that will help you uncover insights to questions you may be carrying about your own leadership or the role you want to play. (No period or womb required.)

By the end of the experience, you’ll have gained new insights on your unique path, a fresh definition of leadership, new tools and inspiration to guide you forward, and new connections with like-minded leaders.

WHO IT’S FOR

This program is for women and non-binary people who:

  • Consider themselves part of the “transition team” helping the world shift to a radically new status quo that supports collective + planetary well-being. (While this may mean you are already actively engaged in world-building through an impact career or activism, it is in no way required.)

  • Feel that the leadership models and practices they’ve been taught are lacking for what is needed to thrive + affect change at this moment on our planet, but are unsure of what else is possible

  • Want tools + inspiration to anchor their leadership in their bodies and the natural world

WHAT TO EXPECT

The program includes 3 core components:

  • 5 live calls spread out over 3 months (1-1.5 hours each)

  • Pre-work for each live call (~30 min in advance of each call)

  • A weekly cycle awareness practice you’ll do on your own (~10 min/week)

The group will also have the option of an asynchronous group chat during the program if it is of interest.

The overall intention is that the program feels spacious and supports participants to tap into all ways of knowing. In practice, this will look like weeks off between live calls for rest and integration, and prioritizing self-inquiry and group sense-making over looking to external sources for answers.

While I will do some teaching to introduce the tools we’ll be using, including the circle structure and the cycle awareness practice for self-inquiry, the majority of the program will be a guided participatory experience co-created with the group. Think: less like school, more like dynamic conversation with fellow wise humans.

To inspire our conversations and help everyone feel supported to fully participate, you will receive a small resource (think: a video, an article or podcast) and a few initial questions we’ll use to kickstart our conversation a week before each Circle Gathering. This may include additional optional resources if you’d like to explore further.

FAQ + Disclaimers

  • Cycle Awareness as I teach it within Sister Seasons is a practice of observing your body’s and nature's cycles to notice how these cycles affect us personally and collectively, and then actively working with these patterns to both support our personal well-being and deepen our understanding of how we can support our planet’s well-being. The natural seasons and the menstrual cycle are two examples of cycles that we can observe, and they’re the ones I teach most often. But to be clear, you do not need a menstrual cycle to participate in this program.

I am endlessly grateful to Sjanie Hugo-Wurlitizer and Alexandra Pope of The Red School for first introducing me to the concept of Menstrual Cycle Awareness and a long list of teachers focused on regenerative futures who planted the seeds that led me to expand cycle awareness beyond the menstrual cycle by seeing how our body’s cycles are interconnected with those of the natural world around us.
